Lir Resources’ production strategy also incorporates: offshore gas-to-wire power generation, production of hydrogen, and Carbon Capture, Usage & Storage of CO₂. In addition to the environmental mitigations, these synergies will be commercially viable, not least by minimising cost through co-locating power generation or hydrogen production adjacent to the recipient depleted reservoirs for the CO₂ generated.

A purpose built offshore platform permits either power plants and hydrogen production plants to be located offshore (see adjacent figure) without a significant increase in costs, when compared to onshore solutions.
